Lindsey Katharine Presley, 30, died on November 13, 2020 at UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital. The cause of death was pneumonia, suspected to be COVID -related.
She was born June 16, 1990 in Denver and lived most of her life in Greenwood Village, CO. In January 2008, during her Senior year at Cherry Creek High School, she was diagnosed with a blood disorder. She graduated that May and received a bone marrow transplant at Children’s Hospital in September. In the intervening years, she was admitted to Children’s Hospital and UC Health numerous times and developed a close relationship with many of her care givers. A few months before the Pandemic, she became a CNA: a Certified Nurse Assistant. She wanted to work with children and was looking forward to her first job.
Lindsey was a master of the pie crust, Facebook political warfare, and negotiations. A cat lover, she leaves behind Wilder. She was a fan of Trader Joe’s Everything Dip, reality T.V., and any music except classical. She was a true believer in the Colorado uniform – Nike shorts, a Patagonia, and flip flops. She liked margaritas and hated museums. Lindsey was historically intolerant to disorganization and enjoyed trips to the Container Store. She loved kids…not so much old people. A fluent user of curse words, she was a self -described “shit creek survivor.” Courageous. Assertive. Resilient. That was Lindsey.
Survivors include her parents Aimee Steinbock and Jerry Presley; her sisters Hayley and Carly; and numerous Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins (and Wilder). Lindsey was preceded in death by her sister, Jessica and her brother, Austin.
